Diabetes

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Diabetes
The moment you find your blood sugar levels slightly high, you start to panic. I am a diabetic, I cannot eat sugar, my favourite sweets, chicken, and rice. Most people think that their life is finished, mainly young people but that is not at all true.

How common is Diabetes?
In World, around 72.96 million people suffer from diabetes.

What is Diabetes?
The normal blood sugar level was evaluated about 200 years back, when our grandparents, great grandparents were alive. They called about 100 people, checked their blood sugar levels, and found out the average blood sugar of about 60% of the people. They decided that it is the normal blood sugar level from now onwards. This was 200 years back and we still follow the same levels. The US and UK tried to increase it, but Worldns opposed it.

200 years back our grandparents, great grandparents were physically 95% more active than us. How do you expect our blood sugar levels to be the same? It is not fair on you and me to have the same blood sugar levels that they used to have with the kind of physical activity they had. Don’t you agree?

If you take the blood sugar levels of an average number of people now, it would be way higher than the normal level, but we still want to maintain it at that level. This is asking for too much but that is how the world, the scientific, and the medical community work. So in this bargain, we all try to maintain that particular normal blood sugar level and it is a tough task.

Allopathic approach:
The moment your blood sugar level goes a little high, you are put on medications. There are no lifestyle changes done, so the levels do not come under control, then they increase the medication, they put you on insulin. Once you start allopathic medications, you are stuck with them for the rest of your life.

This is not the way you should look at diabetes. So what if your blood sugar levels are a little high, why do you have to panic and start on medication? Why can you not try alternative systems of medicines, exercise, do a little bit of diet, and try to bring it down in 6 months to 1year’s time?

If the first time you check your blood sugar and it is around 300, 400, 500 that means there is something wrong with your body, maybe your kidneys or pancreas. This needs to be sorted immediately. But if your blood sugar is 112 instead of 110, you panic. Even if your fasting blood sugar is around 200 and post-lunch is 220, 230, nothing will happen.

Homeopathic approach:
We have been able to help a lot of people with diabetes. Homeopathy has wonderful medicines which take care of your sugar levels.

We get a lot of people who have just been diagnosed with diabetes and are not on any allopathic medicines. Once we start them on homeopathic medicines, within 3 to 6 months, we are able to bring down their blood sugar levels.

We also get a lot of people who are already on allopathic medicines, we start homeopathic medicines along with allopathy, and over some time, we are able to get them off allopathic medication. I am not saying that we can cure all the cases of diabetes. But we can help most of them.

My take on blood sugar levels:
I would rely on HBA1C rather than fasting and post-lunch levels as they keep fluctuating. So many things regulate fasting and post-lunch levels, it depends on what we eat, emotional stress, and physical stress. I recommend checking your HBA1C at least once in three months to see that it is under control. That should be the yardstick. The moment it touches 5.5, people panic thinking it is high, and start meds. Even if the value is around 6 to 7, do not worry, nothing will happen. The moment it goes above seven, start on homeopathic medication and do some lifestyle changes.

In my 30 years of my practice, I have not seen anybody with any major side effects due to diabetes. There could have been a one or two, but that one or two can happen to you either way. Just because a small percentage of people are affected because of blood sugar, it does not mean you have to be on guard and ruin your entire life taking care of your blood sugar.

It is not a big deal unless your levels are very high. Give it a shot with natural medicines, exercise, yoga, diet. See if we can bring it down in about 6 months to 1 year. If you are still not able to bring it down then start on allopathic medicines.

People who are already on allopathic medicines:
For people who are already on diabetic medications, we start them parallelly on both Homeopathy and allopathy. We keep monitoring their blood sugar levels and gradually taper off their doses. Over a period of time, we are able to get them off allopathic medication.

Do’s and Don’ts:
Exercise regularly, eat healthy food, and follow the diet that I have given on my website “Hussain Kaisranis diet”. Be a little disciplined with what you eat and include exercise in your daily routine. A lot of people whose HBA1C was very high and who were on diabetic medications, once they started following this diet along with homeopathic medications, in about three to six months they have been able to stop their diabetic medications. This is something you can try.

Most people stop eating a lot of foods, what is life when you cannot eat what you enjoy? That is not the way to live, enjoy your life. It is not so complicated, nothing will happen.

You should always keep experimenting with alternative systems of medicine, you cannot be stuck to allopathy medications for your entire life, and eventually, you will end up with the side effects of allopathic medicines.

What would I do if I was in your place:
Do not start on allopathic medicines for diabetes unless you have given alternative systems of medicines a try. I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and manage diabetes.

Do not start on any allopathic medications until you have given Homeopathy a try for at least about three to six months. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months’ time. But if these medicines can help you manage your blood sugar levels and avoid allopathic medications and insulin for the rest of your life, isn’t it worth giving it a try?

Take care.
