Molluscum Contagiosum

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Molluscum contagiosum is a viral infection of the skin or occasionally of the mucous membranes. It is caused by a DNApoxvirus called themolluscum contagiosum virus(MCV).

Many of my allopathic doctor friends who are dermatologist refer their molluscum patients to me as there is no treatment for it in allopathy except surgically removing it but it comes back again .We have been very successful in treating molluscum cases though i must add that few of the molluscum cases respond within weeks and few of them takes months to respond but they surely get well. we not only take care of the existing ones but make sure they dont get new ones too.

Molluscum contagiosum:
Molluscum contagiosum are small pearl-like eruptions that come on the body, when you look at them they are kind of shiny. They start as a single eruption but they keep spreading and become multiple. We get a lot of children with molluscum contagiosum.

How common is molluscum contagiosum:
In World, around 8 to 12% of children suffer from molluscum contagiosum.

Molluscum contagiosum:
Molluscum is a small pearl-like eruption that comes on the chin, face, neck, hands, anywhere on the body. They keep spreading.

Whatever you do, they do not go away. It is usually seen in kids but adults also have it. Molluscum contagiosum as the name says, it is contagious to you and others. It spreads through towels, bedsheets, or any surfaces where it stays. This virus does not spread as easily as other contagious diseases but this spreads with prolonged contact. We have mother’s coming to us saying that we have got molluscum on the hand. Why? Because when the kid who has molluscum puts his head on the mother’s hand, they start developing molluscum there. And once this comes, it keeps spreading. You get worried and go to the doctor.

Allopathic approach:
The first person you go to is a dermatologist, he will diagnose it as molluscum contagiosum and will tell you there are no medicines for it and you have to get it removed. So you go, get it removed and within a month or two, you find them popping up again.

It is caused by a virus, you need to understand that there is a process that is happening within your body. How is it that you are getting one on the cheek, one on the chin, one on arms unless there is something that is happening from inside? How long will you go on removing them? How will you stop the process? Molluscum is something that has to go from the inside, not from the outside, surgical removal is not the solution. There are very few people who do not get it again after they surgically remove them. 90% of the people with molluscum, once they get it removed, it comes back again within few months.

Homeopathic approach:
Molluscum is also seen in people whose immunity levels are low because viruses and bacteria easily catch people whose immunity is low. So when we treat a patient for molluscum, we not only give them medicines to treat molluscum but also to improve their immune system.

Whenever a patient with molluscum comes, I tell them I can help you, you do not have any other option and Homeopathy is your only option but the catch is that you need to be patient. Molluscum takes a long time, I will tell you why, there is something that is happening in your body that needs to stop and we give you medicines first to put a stop to the process. This will not happen within a few weeks, it takes months. Once we start the medicines, we find a few eruptions come and go, but the intensity and frequency, with which they used to come, will come down. Over a period of time, new ones will stop coming and the existing ones will just fall off. Once all the eruptions fall off, we ask them to continue medicines for a month or two, just to see that it does not come back again.

We have been able to help a lot of people with molluscum, who have come to me and have been patient, If you try it for a month or two it may not help you. Molluscum takes time to go away but let me tell you this again, you do not have another option. You have to eventually take homeopathy to get rid of molluscum.

What happens if you leave it alone?
(If left alone, the eruptions keep spreading from one part to the other, it just does not look good.)

Diet restrictions:
There are no diet restrictions.

Do’s and Don’ts:
Molluscum is contagious, if somebody in the family has it, make sure that they are using separate towels, separate pillow covers, and separate soaps so that it does not spread to others because once this thing comes it troubles you for a long time.

What would I do if I was in your place?
I would for sure not get them removed by surgery. I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and get rid of molluscum.

If you are diagnosed with molluscum do not try anything else until you have given Homeopathy a try for at least three to six months. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months’ time. But if these medicines can help you avoid surgery, prevent recurrence, and get rid of molluscum permanently for the rest of your life, isn’t it worth giving it a try?

Take care. Hi, this is my 2 years old kid. He got molluscum at the inner corner of eye (encircled area). Dermatologist suggest to apply Skin-A(Tret 0.05) on the effected area daily at night. However, as per my knowledge Tret 0.05 is so strong to be applied on 2years old baby skin , especially on the corner of eye. Need suggestions please. I m confused to follow the dermatologist’s advice
