Homeopathic Child Psychology: Does School Affect a Child’s Life? | Dr. Hussain Kaisrani

Homeopathy, Rubrics, and Child Psychology: Does School Affect a Child’s Life?

Welcome to another session. I am Dr. Hussain Kaisrani – DHMS, BHMS, BSc, MS (UK), a Psychotherapist and Homeopathic Consultant. Today, we analyse a crucial question through homeopathic repertory: Does school affect a child’s life?

We continue our series studying rubrics in alphabetical order. I always emphasise studying the repertory. This gives you a wider perspective than relying solely on remedy images. Approaching a case through rubrics provides concrete facts, much like physical symptoms. Consequently, the quality of your prescriptions can improve dramatically.

Many students ask me about repertory study methods. I will provide a practical example today. The goal is to make you self-sufficient. You will learn to build a robust framework of remedy knowledge, reducing dependency on teachers.

A Practical Method: Studying Through Keywords

My approach uses keywords. Suppose I study the keyword “school”. I search for all related rubrics in the repertory, such as:

  • Aversion, school, to
  • Fear, school, of
  • Anxiety, children, about school lessons
  • Fear, kindergarten, of (This rubric has only one remedy: Plutonium nitricum. You must study why.)
  • Going out, desires for, school or kindergarten

This method creates a clear mental map. For instance, a child worried about homework or a specific lesson, like a chapter on cells, may point directly to Lycopodium clavatum or Silicea. This is how a rubric-based foundation simplifies complex cases.

Differentiating Rubrics in Clinical Practice

Consider a child who refuses school. You must ask “why?” The answer guides you to the correct rubric. Is it fear? Is it aversion? Alternatively, a child might want to go to school to escape home. The rubric “Desires, going out, school or kindergarten” covers this. It lists only two remedies: Calcarea phosphorica and Tuberculinum bovinum. We know the Tuberculinum child craves travel and change.

Recently, a mother said her child gets bored at school. We find the rubric “Boredom, school, aggravates”. Another child might go only for play and amusement. This distinction in motivation is critical for accurate remedy selection.

Case Example: Delving Deeper into the Child’s Mind

A patient once refused school after a project rejection. Superficially, we might consider fear. However, deeper inquiry revealed a worry about the teacher’s judgement. This leads us to the rubric “Fear, judged or censured, of being”.

Parents might say the child takes all advice as criticism. For example, suggesting they speak louder is met with hurt. This is the rubric “Delusions, criticisms, he is being criticised” or “Offended, easily”. A key remedy here is Lilium tigrinum. Another useful cross-reference is “Aggravation, admonition, from, even kindly”.

This systematic approach removes guesswork. You build your analysis on factual rubrics, not just perception. It creates a firm ground for prescription, similar to using clear physical generals like loss of appetite.

The Homeopathic Role in School-Related Issues

Homeopathy addresses the core emotional and mental state. A child with school phobia or performance anxiety isn’t just given a generic calmative. The remedy matches their unique expression of distress, be it through fear of judgement (Staphysagria), anticipation anxiety (Argentum nitricum), or intellectual exhaustion (Kali phosphoricum). This treats the cause, not just the symptom.

Conclusion and Study Advice

Start studying single rubrics. Create “entry points” to remedies rather than fixed images. I made a video on Opium explaining how to recognise it clinically. Use the same approach.

Therefore, when a child presents with school as a problem area, you will have a structured list of probable remedies. This leads to systematic, effective results.
