Our Journey with AC
As parents, we wanted to share our story about our son AC, a bright and loving five-year-old who is neurodivergent and diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This journey has taught us patience, resilience, and unconditional love. Every small achievement fills our hearts with gratitude. By sharing our experience, we hope to encourage other parents who may be walking a similar path, reminding them that progress takes time and every milestone is meaningful.
Parents’ Observations Regarding AC
Gender: Male
Age: 5 years
Early Development (Birth to 4 years old)
Since birth, AC has developed at his own pace. He has always been curious and expressive in his own way but his milestones arrived a bit later than expected. Started crawling around his first birthday and took his first steps at the age of two. From early on, we noticed that he was a slow learner and faced a few physical challenges along the way.
AC didn’t speak as much as other children his age. He preferred to play one-on-one and would step back when there were too many children around. This was one of the first signs that he might experience the world differently, something we now understand as part of his Autism Spectrum Disorder.
He has always shown a love for music and dancing, which brings him pure joy. In August, we started homeopathic treatment, supported by his wonderful kindergarten teachers and our ongoing efforts at home. Over time, we began noticing small but significant improvements in all areas of his development.
Current Progress
In the past year, AC has made incredible progress. He now wants to do many things independently such as carrying his bag to nursery, holding our hands when going outside, sitting in the car on his own, taking off his shoes when he gets home, and climbing the stairs without help. One of the biggest achievements this year has been learning to throw away his diaper.
Language and Communication
AC’s language skills have grown beautifully. Being multilingual, he speaks Danish, Urdu and English. Although switching between languages can be challenging, he is learning to express himself more clearly every day.
He now speaks in complete sentences and enjoys singing children’s rhymes in English, Urdu and Danish. AC knows many colours including white, black, blue, yellow, red and green. He recognises several animals and enjoys playing animal games with his brother. We have also seen his imagination grow, such as when he related an aeroplane to a movie character he had seen, showing that he connects ideas and memories well.
Social and Emotional Development
Socially, AC has come a long way. Last year, he preferred to play alone or alongside other children. Now he enjoys playing football and joining group games. Watching him interact, laugh and share moments with other children fills us with happiness. His social skills have improved more than we ever expected in such a short time.
Medical and Physical Health
One of our main goals this year was to address AC’s medical condition related to his testicles, which were not in the correct position. After regular consultations with Mr Hussain Kaisrani, our homeopathic consultant, and with Allah’s blessings, AC’s condition improved naturally. When we visited Rigshospital in Denmark, the doctors informed us that surgery was no longer required. It was such a moment of relief and gratitude for our family.
Present-Day Challenges
Although AC has shown wonderful growth, he still faces a few challenges common among neurodivergent children. According to specialists in Denmark, he excels in mathematics, problem-solving, and enjoys building Legos, solving puzzles, and playing PS games.
However, some areas still require support. His physical activities and sports participation are not yet at the same level as other children, and he remains sensitive to noise. As he prepares to start school next year, we know he will benefit from extra educational and emotional support to continue building his strengths and confidence.
His online homeopathic treatment with Dr. Hussain Kaisrani continues, supporting his overall wellbeing and steady progress.
A Parent’s Reflection
Looking back, we are deeply proud of how far AC has come. His journey as a neurodivergent child with Autism Spectrum Disorder has taught us that growth happens in many forms and at its own pace. Each small step forward is a victory worth celebrating.
We have learned that with love, patience, and understanding, every neurodivergent child can flourish. AC continues to surprise us each day with his progress, creativity, and strength. His story reminds us that differences are not limitations but unique ways of seeing the world.
