These growths are non-cancerous. There are three types of growths depending upon the region in which they are formed—under the surface of uterine lining(submucosal fibroid), just under the outside of the uterus(subserosal fibroid), within the muscle wall of uterus(intramural fibroid).

Uterine fibroids
Uterine fibroids are growths, tumors, or nodules that happen inside, outside and within the muscles of the uterus. It is very common. We get a lot of patients with uterine fibroids coming to us asking if we can help them.
How common are uterine fibroids
About 20 to 80 percent of women develop fibroids by the time they reach 50 years and 50% of the people who have fibroids have no symptoms.
Symptoms of uterine fibroids:
It can cause disturbance in periods like heavy bleeding, early bleeding, painful periods, spotting in between the cycle, lower abdominal pain, sometimes difficulty in passing urine and stool, and pain at the perineal region. These are a few symptoms that are typically exhibited.
You go to the gynaecologist and get it checked up, the gynec will get a USG done and say you have got fibroids. What is the next thing that comes into your mind? These fibroids might become cancer and I am going to die, this is absolutely not true, I have been treating fibroids for the last 30 years, Trust me I have not seen or heard of a single case that has turned cancerous.
What you need to realize is, the fibroid is in the uterus which is an organ that is capable of growing into an enormous size to accommodate a baby. What will happen if such a tiny fibroid is somewhere in the uterus? Nothing will happen. The problem is when you get an ultrasound done, the doctor says Oh, you have got a fibroid, you better get rid of it or it will become cancerous, it will do this, that and you start to panic. You browse the internet, take opinions from hundreds of people, who will give you different opinions.
What you need to understand is fibroids are growths that are happening in multiple places in the uterus, but once you get it removed, how will you stop the growth from happening, you can get another one, isn’t it? So think about it logically, what is the best solution to it?
Let me give you an example. I had an Ayurvedic doctor who had around 11 fibroids in her uterus. She got pregnant and she was scared but she continued the pregnancy and eventually gave birth to twins and everything was fine. There is a wrong notion that you may not get pregnant with fibroids, that is not true.
Allopathic approach:
The first line of treatment in allopathy is they put you hormones to regularize your periods. Your periods will get regular but the fibroid continues to grow because there is no treatment for it. In some people when the hormones are controlled, their fibroids also reduce.
The second option is the removal of the fibroid but once you remove the fibroids, there is always a chance of recurrence.
The third option is hysterectomy, just get the damn thing off, end of the story. Easier said than done because hysterectomy is not an easy option, there are a lot of after-effects of getting the uterus removed.
Homeopathic approach:
We believe that fibroids are a tendency that means the body is producing these growths in the uterus and unless you stop this production, you cannot stop the recurrence. Homeopathic medicines will first stop the formation of new fibroids and prevent further growth of the existing fibroid. While we take care of this, you start to feel better symptomatically also. Your period irregularities, excessive bleeding, pain, and flow start getting better. Within the first 2 to 4 months, you will be able to see these changes. What we are trying to do here is we are trying to reduce fibroids with medication instead of surgery, so you need to understand that nothing is going to happen in a month or two. It is a time taking and safe procedure because we are not dealing with hormones and there are no side effects to the homeopathic medication.
Over some time, all your symptoms start getting better. What else do you want? If your symptoms are getting better that means the medicines are working, you get an ultrasound done and your fibroid size may be the same. How does it matter as long as it is not causing you any harm and the growth of the fibroid is stopped? Now, you just need to give some time for the fibroids to shrink. We have had a lot of patients with uterine fibroids, over a period of time, the subsequent Ultrasound has shown that the fibroid size has shrunk.
Some people who are on our medications, in the initial stages they might have excess bleeding and our medicines may not be able to control it. You are most welcome to take some hormones or some allopathic medications for a short period just to control the bleeding but continue these medicines along with them.

What happens if you don’t treat fibroids?
The chances are, the fibroid can keep increasing in size and number and can put pressure on the bladder, rectum causing urinary complaints, difficulty in passing stools. Your stomach can get bulgy, it is always a good idea to treat them rather than leaving it alone.
Diet restrictions:
There are no diet restrictions for uterine fibroids but a lot of people with hormonal issues tend to put on weight.
