The traditional allopathic approach is to give a steroid shot locally which will take care of the symptoms for a few months but it will invariably comes back with the additional problem of the side effects of the steroids or in worse cases surgery. Homeopathic remedies have the ability to dissolve the calcium deposits on the bone, tendons and ligaments, thereby giving the patient total relief. It gets treated once the deposits get dissolved. We get number of patients suffering with this severe pain for years, especially women and we have been able to help almost all of them.

Calcaneal spur or plantar fasciitis
Hello, so you have been diagnosed with Calcaneal spur or plantar fasciitis because you would have been waking up in the morning with pain in the heel. We get a lot of patients coming to us asking if we can help.

How common is Calcaneal spur?
Around 11% of the population in World suffers from calcaneal spur.

Symptoms of Calcaneal spur:
You wake up in the morning with a pain in your heel, it could be one or both the heels. When you wake up in the morning and put your foot down, the first step is very painful. Once you move around, take a few steps your pain gets better or the pain goes away in some people.

Sometimes, during the day you sit for some time and when you get up from a chair or a sofa you experience a similar kind of pain again in your heels and once you move around you feel better. You had a long day of physical work, could have been out shopping, playing games, golfing, you come back home with a lot of pain in the heel.

Why it happens:
These pains typically happen because of a spur or an extra growth that develops in your heel. This is seen both in men and women. The extra growth puts pressure on the surrounding muscles, ligaments, tendons, and causes pain.

Allopathic approach:
In allopathy, they give you painkillers, you feel better but the pain comes back after some time. If this does not help they give you a local steroid injection which makes your pain better for about 2 to 3 months, but the pain usually comes back. Both painkillers and steroids have their own set of side effects.

The last resort is surgery which is least opted for.

Homeopathic approach:
You need to realize that there is a bony growth that is happening in your heel and that growth needs to stop. No amount of pain killer is going to stop the growth, it is only going to mask the pain but it will not stop the growth. Homeopathic medicines work in such a way that no further growth of the spur happens. Once the progress of the disease stops, automatically the pain comes down. Within a few weeks of the medications, you start seeing a reduction in your pain, and over a period of time the pain completely goes away.

We do not recommend that you stop the medicines immediately because we also want the spur to dissolve. We have been able to help a lot of people completely dissolve the spur so that it does not trouble them again in the future.

People who are already on allopathic medication:
We make them stop their allopathic medication and we ask them to take Homeopathy for about three to six months. In some cases where the heel pain is chronic, we start homeopathic medicines along with allopathy, and over a period of time, we taper off their allopathic medicines. Most people respond in about two to three months, some people take a longer time to respond.

If you don’t treat it what happens?
The pain keeps increasing, you will experience more and more pain throughout the day. You will have to depend a lot on painkillers and some people start to limp because of the pain.

Diet restrictions.
There are no diet restrictions that need to be followed, there is no connection between diet and calcaneal spur.

Do’s and don’ts:
When you wake up in the morning, keep your foot out of bed, move it around a little bit so that you bring in some circulation and a little bit of warmth in your feet, then you put your feet down, the pain will be less or when you wake up, walk on your toes for the first few steps that will stretch the muscles and ligaments around that area and that will also give you relief.

You can use insoles or soft cushions in your shoes. Putting your feet in hot water and cold water alternatively is also known to help.

These are quick fixes that can be done to get rid of the pain or give you temporary relief.

What would I do if I were in your place?
I would for sure not start allopathic medications. I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and get rid of Calcaneal spur.

Do not go for surgery or start on any allopathic medications until you have given Homeopathy a try for at least about three to six months. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months. But if these medicines can help you get rid of heel pain permanently and avoid surgery for the rest of your life, isn’t it worth giving it a try?

Take care.
