Tennis Elbow Pain

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]When the outer part of the elbow becomes sore and tender it is known as Tennis elbow. It is also known as shooter’s elbow, archer’s elbow, lateral epicondylit is, lateral epicondylosis, lateral epicondylalgia or simply lateral elbow pain. It is commonly associated with playing tennis and other racquet sports, though the injury can happen to anybody. It is mostly seen in the people 30 to 60 years of age. Lateral epicondyle is a prominent part of the bone on the outside of the elbow.

With our homeopathic remedies over a period of time there will be reduction in swelling, pain, tenderness, stiffness and mobility of the affected joint. This condition is very much reversible with our treatment. Along with our remedies if physiotherapy is done, improvement will be quick.

Tennis elbow:
We get a lot of patients who have just been diagnosed with tennis elbow or who have been taking allopathic medications for tennis elbow, coming to us asking if we can help them.

How common is tennis elbow
Globally, around 1 to 3% of the population suffers from tennis elbow. It is more common in men than in women.

What is tennis elbow?
Tennis elbow is nothing but pain in your elbow, it can come suddenly and randomly to anyone, it does not come only in people who play tennis.

You have pain in the elbow, you are not able to lift anything, you are not able to move your elbow in all the directions, you have pain while playing, lifting, you are not able to lift even a very light thing, it causes a tremendous amount of pain.

Allopathic approach:
You go to the orthopedic doctor and he diagnosis it as tennis elbow. He will give you some contracture bandages to wear, painkillers and ask you to go for physiotherapy. And if this does not help, he gives you a steroid shot. This will help you temporarily, the pain comes down and you are happy. But within few weeks it comes back again, it goes away in one hand but comes in the other hand. There are people who suffer from tennis elbow for years together.

Our cricket Guru Sachin Tendulkar also had it for a long period, he underwent surgery for it and had to leave cricket for a long period of time. I wish he knew about what Homeopathy could do.

Homeopathic approach:
We get a lot of people with tennis elbow and we have had tremendous success treating tennis elbow. We get a lot of housewives, people who work on the computer continuously, (painters) with pain in the elbow. Once we start them on medicines, within few weeks to months the pain comes down tremendously.

Our medicines basically correct the tendons, ligaments, and tissues which are damaged. They take care of the inflammation and repair them back to normal. It takes a little time and once the pain goes away, we continue medications for a few more months so that there is no recurrence.

People who are already on allopathic medication:
(We make them stop their allopathic medication and we ask them to take Homeopathy for three months. Most people respond in about two to three months, some people take a longer time to respond.)

What happens if you don’t treat tennis elbow?
(If left untreated, it usually does not lead to anything serious other than pain but in some cases where it is left untreated for a long time, it can cause loss of motion or loss of function of the elbow.)

Do’s and Don’ts:
The contracture bandages help to manage the pain. Physiotherapy and massage are something that you can do to relieve pain apart from medication.

What would I do if I were in your place?
I would for sure not start pain killers, steroids, or go for surgery. I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and get rid of tennis elbow.

Do not go for surgery or start on any allopathic medications until you have given Homeopathy a try for at least about three to six months. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months’ time. But if these medicines can help you get rid of your pain and avoid surgery for the rest of your life, isn’t it worth giving it a try?

Take care.
