You are basically here because your serum creatinine has gone up. We get a lot of patients with increased serum creatinine or who have been going for dialysis, coming to us, asking if we can help them.
How common are kidney issues?
In World, around 800 per million population suffers from chronic kidney disease.
Causes of increased serum creatinine:
There are various reasons why serum creatinine goes up, one of the major reasons is allopathic medications that you take for some issues. When these medicines are taken for a long period, it causes side effects like increased creatinine levels. There are other reasons that increase creatinine levels, like kidney disease which could be congenital or acquired, kidney failure.
Usually, the serum creatinine can go up to 2 but people get scared and go into panic mode, the moment it goes about 1.6, 1.7, and 1.8. They go to the doctor and he puts them on medication. There was a time when it used to go around 3 or 4 and the patients were put on dialysis, but off late the doctors have become more conventional, their approach has changed, now even if it is 3 or 4, they give you some medications and check the levels again after a month or two.
Few people have frothy urine, proteins in the urine, swelling of the body, and the BP may be a little high but most of the people do not have any symptoms.
Allopathic approach:
The moment you find out that your serum creatinine is a little high and your kidney is under stress, you become a kidney patient. You go to the doctor and get your creatinine levels checked every month and it fluctuates, either a little high or a little low and you live your life as a kidney patient. When people come to me, I ask them what is your problem, what is the serum creatinine doing to you? Nothing, my levels are high, I want it sorted out. Trust me, there are no medicines in allopathy that can sort out these levels except dialysis. They give steroids and many other medicines that kind of keeps it in control but when it goes beyond a particular level they say, you have to go for dialysis and once you do dialysis, most of the time you have to go on doing dialysis regularly.
Homeopathic approach:
We have had patients whose creatinine levels were 11, 12, and even 19. We have patients who come to us because they cannot afford dialysis and we have been maintaining them for 7 to 10 years without any problem. They are still living their life very fine. There are patients whose levels go up because of some other secondary reasons and they have to go in for dialysis. Some people who are already on dialysis every week or month come to us. Once we start homeopathic medicines, the number of dialysis they require keeps coming down. We ask them to take homeopathic medications along with allopathy medicines, whatever helps will help. If we can reduce the number of dialysis that they require, it is worth it.
I can give you medicines that will not let you go into complications. I can let you forget your creatinine levels and let you live your life. I am not saying that I can cure or bring the levels back to zero(normal) but I can make you live a comfortable life. It is not important to stay alive, it is important to live your life. How you live your life is a choice that you should make. Homeopathic medicines help to keep your creatinine levels in control.
Let me tell you about a 36-year-old patient, his serum creating was about 4. For the three years after his creatinine was high, he spent every month going to the nephrologist and getting tests done. It always used to fluctuate between 3 and 4 and the doctor would put him on medication. Three years he just lived his life, he was alive. He and his family would hope and wait for the day when his levels would come down. His levels were almost the same every month or a little high or low and they would be disappointed. He lived three years of his life as a patient without eating this or that, without doing anything.
When he came to me, I asked him what are you achieving by checking the levels every month. Let us check them once in 6 or 7 months. Continue allopathic medicines along with homeopathic medicines but check the levels only after six or eight months and you just start living your life. Trust me, it has been more than three years that he is under my care. He gets his check-up done once in six or eight months and the levels are better than before, they are not normal but at least he is living his life.
What you need to realize is, when there is any major problem with the kidneys, any discomfort or stress on kidneys or if the creatinine levels are going high, your body will get to know. There is no way that there is something major happening in your body and you will not get to know as signs and symptoms, it does not work that way.
Do’s and Don’ts:
Do not get scared or panic the moment your creatinine levels are high, it does not help in any way. How does it help? You become a patient and you live your life only to reduce creatinine levels, but you forget that you have the rest of your body to live for. You have a mind, body, family, work, and social life. Everything comes to a standstill the moment you give into creatinine levels. Do not do that.
Do you think 70% of the Worldns staying in the rural areas who live in poverty do not have kidney problems? Do you think their serum creatinine levels do not go high? There are a lot of them whose serum creatinine levels are very high but most of them do not know about it because they do not check it up. Some of them check it up and know that it is high but cannot afford treatment, so they go back to their work. They come back once in 10 years and the doctor will again say that your creatinine levels are very high, what are you doing about it? I cannot afford to do anything, you told me the levels are high 10 years back also but I am alive and doing my work.
Most things when we leave it to nature and just be unconscious about it, it does not bother us. You are conscious about it because you are aware of it, you are educated, and you know how to Google what can happen to you. But what about 70% of the people? They don’t care or bother about it, they continue to live their life as long as you and I live.
People who are already on allopathic medications:
We ask them to continue allopathic medications along with homeopathic medications and for people who go for dialysis every week or every month, once they start homeopathic medications, we check their levels and gradually reduce the number of times they require dialysis.
What happens if you leave it alone?
(In some cases, when the creatinine levels are left untreated, they keep on increasing and at some point, it damages your kidneys and leads to kidney failure.)
What would I do if I was in your place?
I would for sure not start allopathic medications or go for dialysis if the levels are not so high. I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and manage my creatinine levels.
Do not start on any allopathic medications until you have given Homeopathy a try for at least about three to six months. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months’ time. But if these medicines can help you avoid allopathic medicines, dialysis and can control your creatinine levels, isn’t it worth giving it a try?
