Stammering

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Stammering:
I feel very bad for people who stammer. It has always been my effort to help people who stammer not because it troubles them in any way but others trouble them, particularly children. They are made fun of, I remember my childhood, where I used to make fun and laugh at people who used to stammer. I know what these kids go through.

How common is stammering?
Globally, 8% of the children suffer from stammering. Stammering affects 1 in 100 adults, it is more common in men than in women.

What is stammering?
Stammering is where you are not able to pronounce certain words or you take time to speak, you stutter, it is also called stuttering.

In my 30 years of practice, I have seen that 90% of the people stammer only when they face a particular situation where they are nervous or anxious like meeting a new person, going for an interview, during presentations, and stuff like that. When they are at home or talk to familiar people, they do not stammer but when they meet somebody new they start to stammer and it is very embarrassing for them. They go through a lot of psychological problems.

Let us not get into why it happens, let us see what we can do about it.

Allopathic approach:
As far as I know, there are no medicines in allopathy for stammering.

Homeopathic approach:
I believe that most people stammer because of anxiety or nervousness when they meet new people, during presentations and this can be solved. We have been able to help a lot of patients with this condition. In homeopathy, we basically treat the anxiety and the nervousness they have. Once they start feeling less anxious and nervous their stammering gets better.

It is not something that will go away in a few weeks or months, you need to be patient. It will take some time but I have been able to help a lot of people who stammer. A lot of people come back within few months and thank me once their stammering is gone because it is not easy for them and it is a big deal for them.

What happens if you don’t treat stammering?
(If left alone, stammering keeps increasing. You become so anxious when you meet new people or go out. You lose your confidence, it goes to a stage where you are not confident enough to go out of home or meet new people. It causes a lot of psychological trauma.)

Do’s and Don’ts:
You need to understand that stammering is not a problem, it is just a disability for you to express, your ideas are intelligent and brilliant, you are fantastic as a person. It is just that you stammer when you communicate. But unfortunately stammering takes away confidence in a lot of people, you always think about what the opposite person is thinking, what will others say about you, will they judge you. All this overthinking ends up taking away your confidence and creativity.

Do not let this happen, there are different people with different disabilities in this world. If everybody starts to hide behind their disabilities, you would reach nowhere. It is all right if you stammer. I think you are better off than somebody who has cancer, a life-threatening disease, or who is in pain all the time. You do not have any discomfort, your only issue is what will others think about me, isn’t it?

You need to stop thinking about other people’s opinion, to hell with people’s opinion, I am who I am, be confident, the more confident you are, the easier it will be to get rid of stammering on your own without any help. This should be your attitude, this will solve half of your problems and the rest of the half I will take care of it.

What would I do if I was in your place?
I would for sure give homeopathy a try, I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and get rid of stammering. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months’ time. But if these medicines can help you get rid of stammering for the rest of your life, isn’t it worth giving it a try?

Take care.
