Vertigo Giddiness

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]One of the most successfully treated cases in my clinic. Can help when suffering with giddiness and also to prevent it from recurring again.

One of the most successfully treated cases in our clinic. We can help patients suffering with giddiness and also to prevent it from recurring. We treat the cause thereby preventing recurrence of the problem.

Giddiness or vertigo:
All of us at some point of the time would have felt giddiness. When you sit down and rise, you suddenly feel that something is spinning, you would have felt it when you had too much drink or smoke.

We feel very insecure when we have giddiness, just imagine the giddiness that comes for a moment, stays continuously for some time. It is very scary.

How common is giddiness
Globally, around 5-10% of the population suffers from vertigo.

What happens in giddiness
You suddenly start feeling unsteady, you feel that you are spinning or your room or the world is spinning around you, it can be different ways. When this becomes worse, your body starts to react, you want to vomit, you might have blurred vision, sound in the ears, you feel uneasy and you want to lie down.

There are times when you try to get up in the morning but you cannot because you are falling back on your bed. You turn from left to right or right to left, you move your head, raise it or get up from the seat and you feel giddy. This is called postural giddiness.

Causes of Giddiness:
There are different reasons why giddiness can happen. Let us see the main reasons for giddiness. One of the main reasons is your neck, which means you are straining your neck too much, constantly working on the computer, doing a lot of housework or physical labor. Ear related problem like a block in the ear, or something that disturbs the equilibrium also causes vertigo. Stress is also known to aggravate vertigo.

Obviously, if you wake up with bad vertigo, you are helpless, you are not able to sit or get up. You get worried and reach out to your doctor.

Allopathic approach:
You go to the doctor and he will instantly prescribe vertin or stugeron, these are the two medicines that are usually prescribed. You take it and you feel better, your vertigo comes down but within a week or two, you are back with the same problem. You go to the doctor and take the tablets again, and you are better. There are people who take these tablets for months together. The moment you stop these tablets, your vertigo comes back. Most of the time there is no solution for vertigo in allopathy.

Homeopathic approach:
One of the problems for which Homeopathy has fantastic medicines is vertigo. We have an SOS for vertigo, which has worked wonders for people, you are supposed to take that SOS every 15minutes whenever you feel giddy and in about 3 or 4 doses of medication you will be fine. It has worked miracles but that is temporary. For you to sort your vertigo, we start you on the medication and within a few months your vertigo will slowly come down. You might get another attack of vertigo but with a lesser intensity.

Over a period of 3 to 6 months, the intensity and frequency of vertigo comes down, and eventually, your vertigo stops completely. During these 3 to 6 month’s time keep the SOS with you, whenever you get an acute attack you take it and you are going to be fine, you will not require vertin or stugeron at all.

People who are already on allopathic medication:
(We make them stop their allopathic medication and ask them to take Homeopathy for three months. In some cases where the vertigo is chronic and they have been taking allopathic medicines for a long time like 2 or 3 tablets a day, we start homeopathic medicines along with allopathy, and over some time, we gradually taper off their allopathic medicines.)

What happens if you don’t treat vertigo?
(Nothing much, in a lot of people it goes away with few days but there are people whose vertigo becomes worse with time. The frequency and intensity become so worse that they cannot do their day-to-day activities. It deteriorates the quality of life.)

Diet restrictions:
(There are no diet restrictions to follow.)

Do’s and Don’ts:
Make sure that your neck is not stressed and you are not looking down all the time. When you are on the phone all the time and you keep looking down, you are putting pressure on the blood vessels and that can cause giddiness. So, maintain a correct posture, make sure that you are not straining your neck continuously.

If you have an ENT problem like a block in the ear or cold and cough, sort it out. Do not keep your neck stiff all the time, take it easy and enjoy your life. When you are under stress, your muscles go into spasm and can cause vertigo again.

What would I do if I were in your place?
I would for sure not start on any allopathic medicines. I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and get rid of vertigo.

Do not start on any allopathic medications until you have given Homeopathy a try for at least about three to six months. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months’ time. But if these medicines can help you avoid allopathic medicines and get rid of your vertigo permanently for the rest of your life, isn’t it worth giving it a try?

Take care.
